The Adventures of Darwin - Trailer

Little review I wrote for it. The Adventures of Darwin is an easy game that can be finished within a few hours and is quite a unique game for the PS2 and I believe it\'s the first of it\'s kind on the PS2, it gives you the impression that you are playing Pikmin but there are a few large differences between the two. The game is based on a primate named Darwin and he has a startling dream about his species coming to an end, so Darwin goes out into the wild leading four other primates as they go on a journey to evolve by defeating monsters and picking up what they drop as well as picking up various items in the different levels. The items are then brought back to the village where they are used to build new structures based on the resources (For example if you bring back rock salt to your village the scientists will discover a soap that removes your scent) you bring back they can also lead to new weapons such as axe (short range), spear (medium range) and bow (long range) and then there\'s formations, the one useful formation is \'line\' which is where your minions walk in a line behind you, it is very useful when on a cliffs edge but even then the monkey fall of the edge. In all good games there is always flaws and in this low budget game that can be picked up for $20 it has many flaws. There is no tutorial to help you start the game it just drops you into the game and expects you to work it out, considering this game is targeted at children it is one of it\'s major mistakes. Another flaw is the \'Giant Bucks\' (A creature that has deer characteristics) when your minions kill them they make the same noise as the mammoth and on that note the mammoths blow out fire!? There are also many times when your minions fall of the edge get caught on something and especially when they are carrying an item they get snagged on many things. The Adventures of Darwin is a reasonably good game one you work out how to play it and it is an even better game for kids. It is reasonable enjoyable though it is a game that can finished in under a day but due to the budget it is low prices so you can\'t go wrong with this adventure game.
