Controller wars are on

The new PS3 Wand will be on sale in the next 12 months according to the developers of the new Playstation toy. The launch date has been hinted as spring 2010. The new tech actually has no official name yet, with some calling it the Wand and others simply calling it the motion controller. The device will work with the Playstation Eye’s voice input and will have face tracking and head tracking that is set to provide developers with new tools for game interaction.

One of the Holy Grails of motion sensitive technology has always been force feedback and the developers of this technology claim to have perfected it. They also say that it will work with any game connected to it. It will have four motion controllers tracked at the same time and they are currently checking to see if the new system will allow the combining of a motion controller with a duel shock controller as a sort of sword and shield configuration.
