Controversial horror game on the way

For those of you who have not heard about it, there is a controversial movie out later this year called Antichrist. I’m not really sure what it's about but the name leaves little to the imagination – expect death and horror to rival any gore fest. What is even more controversial however is that a game that is going to be accompanying the movie. From early reports about the title, it is going to feature extreme graphic violence, nudity, and probably most disturbing of all, dead children.

The games director Morten Iverson said in an interview recently: "The movie goes against all the conventions of how you make games and what you can do in games. Dead kids, nudity, graphic violence. It will be a very controversial game, and it’ll be a game that doesn’t really compare with anything else," The movie was screened at the Cannes last month and despite some reservations the BBFC gave it an 18 release certificate. It features William Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg who wander into the woods for some therapy session and things take a plunge south.

The production company Zentropa which is run by Lars Von Trier is developing the game, which is called Eden, the same name as the cabin the doomed couple stays in.

Expect the game sometime next year assuming it passes the censors.

I dunno, he seems to get a bee in his bonnet about Grand Theft Auto, and other titles that are marketed toward a younger demographic. Maybe a game that is obviously intended for adults will flow below his radar?

Who am I kidding, he's gonna have a field day.
