Phishing scam hits Xbox Live
Xbox live members have recently been targetted by online fraudsters. The message will be delivered by someone on your friends list with the following text:
"M2AF everybody go to loginxbox.tk I just got 1600 MS points Hurry though!! I think it is a limited time offer"
Anyone going to that site will be prompted to part with their Xbox Live credentials, and using these, the scammers will have access to your account, including your credit card billing information. They will then log in to your Xbox live account and send the same message to everybody on your friends list.
Normally these scams come from an unknown source and will only work on very few, but the credibility added when the message comes from somebody on your friends list makes this a more dangerous and successful scam than most received by email.
Opening the message on your Xbox/Xbox 360 will not cause your details to be lost, but remember that nobody should ever ask you for your Xbox live login and password details.
