Oldman confirms Dark Knight game
from psxextreme.com:
It wouldn't surprise anyone to learn a video game for The Dark Knight is in the works, but it certainly is surprising that we haven't heard of it yet. Usually, the game comes out at about the same time as the movie, and not only do we not have a game adaptation, we weren't even sure such a project existed. The closest you can come is LEGO Batman: The Videogame, but that's not exactly what fans of the big movie want.
However, it seems Gary Oldman himself has confirmed that The Dark Knight is indeed on the way. During an interview with G4's Kristin Holt, Oldman says very specifically that the game "is in the works" and even talks about a scene where his character (Jim Gordon) is on a rooftop alone while Batman "jumped off the building and opened his wings to fly away and save the day." If you want to see the video for yourself, you can check it out at GameCenterOnline. When will it release? Well, not until the movie becomes available to buy in DVD and Blu-Ray form later this year, which means someone may be putting a great deal of effort into the interactive experience... Could this be one of the hidden gems of the year?
Hey, don't rule it out. 2008 has already seen two good games based on movies - Kung Fu Panda and The Bourne Conspiracy - so perhaps the nasty trend is starting to reverse itself. And if the right studio dives into The Dark Knight, we might get a very cool game. If you're a fan of the movie (we are), you're hoping for the best, right?

Update from mywii.com.au:
A game based on the worldwide hit movie 'The Dark Knight' has for quite some time been unofficially announced by several people who starred within the film, such as Gary Oldman, but of course no official announcement has hit.
Well details have been released, though not officially, and it seems that Pandemic Studios will be the developer behind this game. The game will be GTA Style within Gotham City and you can swing around it with your grappling hook.
The game contains a free roaming camera and hand to hand combat, but as of now only a limited amount of moves exist.
But what the biggest news is that this game is Set after the events of the movie, which might mean we won't see the Joker.
Now the known reason behind why this game has not yet been announced is because the developers are having difficulty behind the free roaming camera and testers of the game have reported repetitive issues due to the limited combat moves. These being only a few of the reported problem is meant to be the reason behind this game not being announced so that developers can keep working with no set date.
I guess we should all be happy that a movie regarded as one of the best ever might just be receiving a game people are hard at work on.
I really hope the game is good im sick of great movies having a crap games to follow up like chronicles of riddick great movie but the game sucked big time.
well considering how good the movie was, it would be an absolute shame to wreck it with anything less than an excellent game.
As you said in the Prince Caspian review, "We’ve been lucky, two movie games that haven’t caused sudden deaths among the reviewing staff posted on the same day. Surely this couldn’t be a trend?" If this game follows the trend it should be very good. You can view the trailer for the LEGO Batman game here: http://www.hellbored.com/videos/watch/07aa8fd239995d3f4d1242a1135f8feb
