Following Activision's recent addition of a drum kit to their Guitar Hero lineup, and with the worldwide release of EA's Rock Band, Konami have jumped into the arena with the announcement of their new game Rock Revolution.

Unlike Rock Band which has a single campaign that supports all attached devices, Rock Revolution will have seperate play modes for drums and guitar/bass. Anthony Crouts from Konami's marketing department said:

“Rock Revolution will be the most innovative and realistic rock game to hit the market, that will provide a quality drum peripheral and music that players will appreciate. As the originator of music-based games, we are dedicated to bringing fans a truly preeminent music experience. With Rock Revolution, we put the emphasis on the drum kit, delivering an experience unlike any other.”

The game is said to have 5 difficulty levels, 40 tracks, and downloadable content to follow the initial release. There will be online co-operative modes, and 15 characters to choose from.

Rock revolution is due for release in Autumn on Xbox 360, PS3, and Nintendo Wii.
