Lego Harry Potter on DS to be like Zelda

Lego Harry Potter is going to look a little different on the DS when it is released, because while it will probably retain the same style of gameplay for the other platforms, the DS version will apparently play more like a Zelda game.

In a recent interview, developers Traveller's Tales were asked about the upcoming Lego Harry Potter and lead designer Arthur Parsons said that this time the DS version would be different:

"It's an isometric adventure-style game. You use the stylus to guide your characters around. It's a bit Zelda-y. You can use a gesturing system to cast spells by drawing shapes on the touch screen."

Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 is set to be released this year and will cover events from the first four movies. The range of characters that will be playable will include Harry himself, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and will include settings like Hogwarts, Diagon Alley, The Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade.

Not only will you be exploring but you will also have to attend lessons, cast spells and play that strange game on broomsticks. Puzzle solving will also play an important part in the new outing. Managing Director of Traveller's Tales games Tom Stone said that the adventure will also build on the Lego humour from previous titles.

"With Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 we are creating an open, wide-ranging experience within Hogwarts that is full of fun and Lego magic. Harry Potter is one of the most beloved and well-respected characters, and we look forward to bringing gamers a new way of interacting in the universe with the Lego humour and exploration."
