BBC to turn Top Gear, Doctor Who into games
The BBC is looking for developers and publishers to turn some of its key franchises into video games.
Among the suggested franchises are fan favourites Doctor Who and Top Gear, along with that bad acid trip of a kids' program, In the Night Garden.
The BBC's multimedia division was shuttered in 2005, forcing the venerable broadcaster to cease development of a PS-2 game based on the series Spooks (or MI5 for our American cousins).
“What we’re trying to do is build the brands here. This is not about opportunistic licensing," said the BBC's Ross Russel.
As part of this new push into the gaming world, BBC Worldwide has hired former EA executive Robert Nashak to head their new digital entertainment division.

A Doctor Who first-person puzzler like Portal could be possibly godlike in the right hands.
